ALLIES in STEM
This program offers advising and professional development opportunities for students who are majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. ALLIES staff can provide many different resources including exploring careers in STEM, advice for mastering STEM disciplines, and information about STEM opportunities on campus. This office welcomes all students and has a specific focus on students traditionally underrepresented in STEM. This office offers different resources to assist with exploring possible careers that match your interests and skills. In addition to online resources, you may make an appointment to meet with a staff member to discuss ways to explore possible careers that would allow you the opportunity to live a life of purpose. Center for Cultural Engagement and Inclusion
Cal Lutheran’s newest center, the CEI, is meant to provide a brave space on campus where students can have open discussions about identity and how identity plays a role in their daily lives. Email Jonathan Gonzales to make an appointment.
Center for Student Success
This office offers services to first-generation students and students who are income-qualified, including advisors and mentors who can assist with discussions about exploring your passions and using your time at Cal Lutheran to learn more about ways to utilize them in different areas of your life. Disability Support Services
This office offers services to qualified students with various disabilities. These services include the opportunity for students to meet with office staff about their interests and passions and various ways to explore these at Cal Lutheran. Email Wendy Jimenez to make an appointment.
Faculty members are also available to discuss how your interests may fit with their disciplines and which careers in those disciplines may offer you an opportunity to live a life with purpose. Please keep in mind that all faculty are available for these conversations. It does not have to be your assigned academic advisor or a faculty member in your current major’s discipline. Asking your current faculty academic advisor or first year seminar faculty advisor for recommendations of other faculty to speak with who may be helpful to you is a great place to start!
Graduate School of Education
Graduate School of Psychology
Students in the Masters in Clinical Psychology program receive academic advising from the director of the program, Dr. Jamie Bedics. Dr. Bedics also enjoys having conversations about the ways that this program match the student’s vision for their future. Students in the Masters in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy may wish to have conversations about their purpose with their faculty or their clinical supervisors.
International Student Services

Did you know that Resident Assistants are not just a great resource for assisting you with dorm life? They are also peers who are happy have conversations about exploring your passions at Cal Lutheran. In addition to RAs, the Residence Life office also has senior staff members who offer office hours for these conversations with students. The Peer Advisors assigned to Freshman Seminar or Transfer Seminar classes are peers who are also happy have conversations about exploring your passions at Cal Lutheran. If you no longer have the contact info of your assigned Peer Advisor, contact Ashley DeLauriers or visit their office.
