About

Ryan DeMoss is a Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics department. He received his M.S. in Pure Mathematics and his B.S. in Mathematics from California State University, Channel Islands. His teaching specialty is developmental math courses, such as Intermediate Algebra, Finite Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Precalculus. He also teaches courses such as Applied Calculus, Calculus 1 and Discrete Mathematics. 

Mr. DeMoss teaches half-time in the traditional College of Arts and Sciences, and half-time in the post-traditional Bachelors Degree for Professionals Program, and he currently serves on the Institutional Review Board of California Lutheran University. He also serves on the Board of the Mathematical Association of America (SoCal/Nevada Chapter).

Mr. DeMoss' research is based in the area of algebraic number theory, which studies the arithmetic and properties of number fields and rings of integers, using abstract algebra. Particularly, Mr. DeMoss' research focuses on the nature and behavior of ideals in number rings.
