World AIDS Day Mini Conference and AIDS Memorial Quilt Exhibit

This event will feature an exhibit, a careers and advocacy reception and a keynote presentation, and will conclude with a candlelight vigil.

  • 5:30-6:30 p.m. Public Health Careers and Advocacy Reception: Explore internship and career paths by meeting with local leaders in HIV/AIDS testing, treatment, education, prevention and outreach services.
  • 6:30-7:30 p.m. Keynote Presentation: Dr. Nina Harawa (UCLA epidemiologist) and Lawrence Dotson (community partner with Dr. Harawa's HIV/AIDS research projects)
  • 7:30-8 p.m. Candlelight Vigil: Nondenominational act of commitment to stand together against injustice, marginalization and oppression of those impacted by HIV/AIDS

Learn local stories by touring the exhibit of AIDS Memorial quilts from Quilt Project Gold Coast. This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP or ticket required.
