Balancing Plato & Aristotle's Ethics and Politics
This paper examines Plato and Aristotle's ethical and political theories in terms of balance and eudaimonia. I will be making the argument that Plato's ethics and politics are superior to Aristotle's. Plato prioritizes rationality bringing true balance, leading to eudaimonia. While, Aristotle is mean oriented, finding balance between two extremes. I will argue that balance is not always found in between two extremes; moreover, it takes finding the right mix of values in order to be in a state of balance and eudaimonia which Plato explicates.
