This proposed research explores the impact of California's mandated Ethnic Studies curriculum in Ventura and Santa Barbara County's high schools, with a focus on Simi Valley, and Carpinteria. Following the passage of Assembly Bill 101 in 2021, requiring three credits of Ethnic Studies for graduation, debates have emerged over curriculum content and implementation strategies. Contrasts between districts reveal ideological tensions, exemplified by Temecula Valley Unified School District's ban on Critical Race Theory. Through interviews and data analysis, this research assesses the effectiveness and equity of Ethnic and Race Studies implementation, offering insights into a transformative phase in California's educational landscape.

 
This abstract introduces a research proposal examining the impact of sexual liberation on rape culture, specifically among 18 to 24-year-olds. Despite societal strides in accepting diverse sexualities, sexual violence persists, especially among college-aged individuals.  This study aims to discern whether sexual liberation curbs rape culture, thereby reducing sexual violence instances. Through surveys and interviews, it will analyze patterns of sexual liberation, identifying factors fostering a liberated mindset. By advocating for a nuanced understanding of sexual liberation as encompassing respect and freedom, this research endeavors to inform strategies combatting rape culture and promoting consent culture.
