Minor

Strengthen any major.

The value of studying English goes far beyond reading and writing. You’ll develop strong skills in both critical thinking and communication — essential to success in any field.

What you’ll study

You’ll design your own minor by selecting courses that line up with your interests. You could choose to focus on creative writing or literature, for example. Your academic advisor will work with you to make sure that your minor suits your goals.

Having an English minor allowed me to explore my passion for creative writing while pursuing a career in a different field. This led me to new experiences like working for the Morning Glory, our school literary magazine.
