Shannon Cordes '13 & Zachary Zabo '13
Zachary and I met in Intro to Law 105 during the second semester of our Freshman year at Cal Lu. Zachary sat in front of me in class, and it didn’t take long for us to meet and make plans for our first date. On February 19, 2010, we had our first date at the Cheesecake Factory at the Thousand Oaks mall. During our dinner we noticed it started to rain, but we were deep in conversation and kept dry under a patio umbrella. We both majored in Criminal Justice and graduated in 2013 — Zachary was our class’s Valedictorian. Some of our favorite memories of Cal Lu are being on ASCLUG government together as senators, planning Zach’s RA programs, and spending time with our classmates who became our lifelong friends. This past Saturday, February 2, 2019, we got married in Westlake Village and had our ceremony at St. Jude the Apostle Church and reception at the Westlake Village Inn. We will forever be thankful to Cal Lu because the foundation of our love story is rooted here. To us, our Alma Mater is where our love story began.
