Academic Exploration: Business and Entrepreneurship
Discover Cal Lutheran
High school students and their parents/guardians are invited to an Academic Exploration on studying business and entrepreneurship at Cal Lutheran.
Students will participate in a hands-on, faculty-led academic activity while parents and guardians will join a separate session featuring information from admissions counselors, a faculty discussion and a Q&A.
Event schedule:
- 5 p.m.: Welcome and Cal Lutheran overview for students and families
- 5:30 p.m.: Concurrent student and parent sessions
- Students: In this experiential classroom activity led by Professor Tracy Nickl, PhD, students will work in small teams to create a business around a surprising constraint, identify a target customer, develop a value proposition and consider how the business could generate revenue. They’ll then have 90 seconds to pitch their idea and get a glimpse into how business students solve real-world problems and turn ideas into action.
- Parents/guardians: This session will include information on admissions, a discussion with faculty and a Q&A session.
- 6:30 p.m.: Closing, networking and informal conversations with faculty and staff
Attendees must register in advance for this complimentary workshop. Spots are limited, so register now.
