World AIDS Day Mini Conference and AIDS Memorial Quilt Exhibit
Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Lundring Events Center

This event will feature an exhibit, a careers and advocacy reception and a keynote presentation, and will conclude with a candlelight vigil.

Learn local stories by touring the exhibit of AIDS Memorial quilts from Quilt Project Gold Coast. This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP or ticket required.

Indigenous Peoples' Heritage Month Lecture Lunch with Dayna Barrios
Thursday, November 21 at 12:30pm in Lundring Events Center

Join us for lunch after chapel to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month with keynote speaker Dayna Barrios, Native community leader and former chairwoman for the Barbareño/Ventureño Band of Mission Indians. Barrios will share stories about her Chumash ancestors and how faith has been present in their traditions and culture.

This is a great opportunity to learn about California Native history and heritage, as we continue to build a beloved community under the theme of Healing and Restoration. This event will present information to spark curiosity and invite reflection on how faith inspires communities and individuals throughout history.

The choral ensembles and String Symphony join forces to present the annual Christmas Concerts. 

Welcome the holiday season with this special musical gift, featuring a narrated performance of Christmas music guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood. As always, the program for this longest-running annual event will include delightful lesser-known carols as well as familiar favorites. Wyant Morton and Breanna Thornton will conduct.

Christmas with Areté: Handel's Messiah (Christmas portion)

The singers of Areté present music from George Frederic Handel’s timeless classic Messiah. Wyant Morton will conduct.

Samuelson Chapel will be filled with joyous refrains and exultant arias, including the iconic “Hallelujah Chorus,” in this presentation of one of the best-loved and best-known works in all of classical music.
