Students come to Cal Lutheran expecting to earn their degree.
It is our responsibility to help them succeed.
Did you know that first-to-second year retention rate is one of the most important measures of student success?
When a student leaves Cal Lutheran before graduating, they often have unpaid loans, costs for transferring to other schools, and difficulties completing their degree. It also affects Cal Lutheran's ability to maintain enrollment, which impacts university budget. Student persistence is integral to our institution, and everyone at Cal Lutheran plays a role.

Stories From Our Students

Marc Brian MundaI was able to meet Rev. Scott during NSO Week when he came into our classroom and talked to all of the Peer Advisors. His energy and words stuck with many of our team members, and I could feel his presence and passion in his work for our community every time he checked in with me or others. Whenever I have the chance to attend his Chapel hours, I always leave with something to remember, based on what he preaches. Rev. Scott is an individual who has quickly made an impact in our campus community — I am grateful to have met him and learned various lessons and advice from getting the opportunity to interact with him.
