Tips to Plan Ahead

  1. Arrive early to check in

    We recommend arriving by 8:30 a.m. to ensure you have enough time to park and check in before the welcome session begins at 9 a.m. We look forward to greeting you at check-in outside of Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center from 8-9 a.m. For more details, please see directions and parking information

  2. Enjoy an outdoor lunch in the park

    Lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m in Kingsmen Park. You can stop by any time during these hours at your convenience. If you have any questions regarding dietary accommodations — for today's lunch servings or meal plan options during the academic year — our campus dietician will be available to assist.

  3. Dress comfortably and be ready to explore

    Admitted Student Day is designed to help you discover Cal Lutheran — we suggest you dress comfortably and wear walking shoes. Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission prior to the event if you may require any mobilty assistance.

 Transfer Students, we'd love to meet you! Be on the lookout for the tables marked "Transfer Lunch" and join the Transfer Admission Team with other prospective transfer students. This will be a great chance to make new connections and ask any questions you may have.

Come meet our student tour guides to learn more about different areas of campus. The campus tour is self-guided, with tour guides stationed at six different areas on campus. Feel free to take the whole tour or simply visit specific stops.

Financial Aid Advising

12-4 p.m. — see ticket for your time
Overton Hall

Our Financial Aid counselors will be available to answer your questions. You can find your advising time slot on the ticket you were given at the morning check-in station.

Involvement Fair

Come and learn about the five different communication majors and the career pathways in this dynamic field. Along with majors in Communication, Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Sports Communication and Marketing Communication, the department's. opportunities include writing for the student newspaper, hosting radio shows and podcasts, research fellowships, developing advertising and PR campaigns in competitions, and networking with professionals.

Learn About Criminology and Criminal Justice

Learn how we provide students with the knowledge, skills and ethical training that are essential for pursuing a career in law enforcement, corrections, the legal system, probation and parole — or a variety of social service agencies. This program also prepares you for graduate studies in law, criminology, or public policy and administration.

Earth in Action: Explore, Experiment, and Discover—from Field to Lab

Earth and Environmental Sciences Department

Step into the dynamic world of Earth and Environmental Sciences and discover how we study—and shape—the planet’s future. Learn about our three majors and hear directly from faculty and students in the program. In this interactive open house, we will share how students get involved in hands-on research and discuss how our programs connect classroom learning with real-world environmental challenges. Come explore our newly renovated spaces through guided tours of teaching labs and research facilities. The Science of Sport and Movement

Film and TV Department Open House

Film and TV faculty will provide visitors with an in-depth tour of the student production and learning facilities. Students will also get a chance to see our advanced field and studio production equipment.

Liberal Studies in Education Department

In this session, our future educators will learn about the many program paths available to them, the courses involved in their program and the many unique student teaching and internship opportunities for our students in local school districts. Current students will share their experiences being a student in the undergraduate teacher preparation program and the program director will be available to answer any questions our future teachers and their families may have.

The Experimental Edge: Physics Beyond the Classroom

Step inside the world of experimental physics. Explore our new electronics and optics/laser laboratories where students build circuits, work with precision instruments, and investigate the behavior of physical phenomena. The William Rolland Art Center houses both the Studio Art and Digital Media & Design programs under one roof — and that's by design. On this tour, you'll walk through dedicated studios, labs, and gallery spaces for ceramics, painting, sculpture, drawing, video, photography, and digital media. Working across these disciplines, students develop the critical thinking and visual problem-solving skills that a professional creative career demands. You'll meet faculty and current students, see the facilities firsthand, and view the Visual Arts Senior Exhibition in the gallery.
