Scholarship Opportunity for Future STEM Teachers

The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship TEAMS Program provides graduate students, majoring in math or science with a career path into teaching at the middle or high school level.

Through this program, you can receive up to $36,500 in scholarships and other financial support to earn your bachelor's degree and teaching credential. You'll also gain valuable hands-on training within a school setting.

The program includes a residency with Oxnard Union High School District. Our goal is to develop aspiring STEM teachers with culturally sustaining teaching strategies to serve in our regional high-need schools.

How does it work?

The TEAMS program is a multi-year program

Graduate Students: You’ll start the program upon completion of foundational courses. Upon completion of these prerequisites, graduates will become TEAMS Candidates and begin a full-time year-long residency which will culminate with the earning of a California Teaching Credential. Upon hiring, you'll become a TEAMS Teacher and receive $1,000 in classroom supplies and collaborative support for your first two years as a certificated teacher.

Candidates accepted into the program will make connections between theory and practice by participating in a year-long teacher residency program in a high school setting.

How to Apply

Who Can Apply?

You are eligible to apply if you are an applicant to the Cal Lutheran Graduate School of Education. Applicants must have an undergraduate major or a bachelor degree in:

Biological Sciences
Computer Sciences
Engineering
Mathematics & Statistics
Physical Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Physics)

Requirements

Initial meeting with Lauren Prieto in Graduate Admissions office
Application submitted to Graduate Admissions office
A resume or curriculum vitae
A one-page written essay on the value and importance of teaching STEM as informed by the GSOE’s vision statement
Vision Statement:Guided by social justice and advocacy, we will reimagine education to disrupt inequities and to meet the future needs of students and communities
One letter of recommendation from a current or former STEM instructor
College transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA

Application Process

Interviews will take place in Fall 2026
Once accepted into the TEAM Program, students will be required to sign a contract of obligation requiring 2 years of teaching in a high-need school upon completion of the program for each year of scholarship/stipend received.
