Submission Guidelines
2026 Submission Window: Feb. 15 - March 15th.
We accept submissions of any art form: poetry, prose (including short fiction and creative nonfiction, and dramatic scenes) paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, short video and audio projects (including music, dance, spoken word poetry, podcast snippets, etc). Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of CLU may submit.
- Submit your original art, multimedia creations, writing, and music to the Morning Glory at morningglory@CalLutheran.edu by the deadline.
- Submissions should include a title page that includes your name, email address (CLU email preferred), phone number, and title(s) of your piece(s).
- You may submit multiple works, but a single person can only have one submission chosen and in the final product.
- Submit written work as a Word document in 12 point Times New Roman font.
- Submit art and photography as JPEG images. Video and audio files must be submitted as mp3 or mp4 files.
- Poetry submissions should include only 1 to 3 works, the total of which does not exceed 10 pages (single or double-spaced).
- Prose work should be no more than 2500 words and should not exceed ten pages (double-spaced.)
- If submitting multiple forms/genres of writing (i.e. some combination of poetry, prose, essays, etc) please make sure that the total amount of work does not exceed ten pages (double-spaced).
- Video and audio submissions should be 5 minutes or less. (Please try emailing your submission to us first, but be aware that if we have problems receiving the file we may ask you to send it using an alternative method; you will be notified if this is the case.)
