Jonathan Boe, Ph.D.
Honorary Alumni
The late Dr. Jonathon Boe was a longtime member of the faculty at CLU. He rose from History Professor to Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences while teaching and working for three decades at CLU until his death at age 55. Dr. Boe was a Chicago native, who graduated from Carleton College and received his post-graduate degree from Stanford University. He wrote and co-authored several works, including The American Journey: United States History Through Diaries and Letters, vol. I, II and III. Dr. Boe encountered countless students during his tenure at CLU and is remembered as an outstanding classroom teacher and a professional historian. He also spent much of his time working to improve the academic standards at CLU. The Alumni Association will honor Dr. Jonathon Boe with an Honorary Award posthumously.
