Expertise
My teaching career began in Chicago as a long-term substitute. After my time there, I developed curriculum and served on the original faculty of a Pre-K team which expanded elementary schooling and social services to local youth in San Jose, Costa Rica.
In 2008, I began developing after-school programming for schools throughout Los Angeles Unified, where later taught English grades 9-12 for fourteen years.
Since 2018, I have also taught within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at California State University, Los Angeles.
My graduate research has covered a variety of topics, including Queer-Friendly Literature, Charles Dickens' and the Industrial Revolution, and most recently, Remote-Learning.
