Project 24: A Day in the Life
Project 24: A Day in The Life is an interactive design experience deriving its content from the encounters of students within the Advanced Multimedia 301 class. The media students spent three days over the course of the fall 2015 semester chronicling a twenty-four hour time span on campus at California Lutheran University, in the city of Thousand Oaks, and in the Greater Los Angeles area. Students were challenged to capture the atmosphere, to find the extraordinary in the ordinary, through the use of still photography and film. The project has been brought together by three student design teams each with their own unique style. Each team elected a creative director and delegated the roles of photography editor, video editor, layout designer, and typography designer to the rest of the team. Each team has applied their style to create a documentary style digital magazine available in print, on the web, and on mobile devices. The purpose of this endeavor is to show the direction that graphic design and digital media are heading in while also providing evidence of how this new medium provides a more immersive and informational experience.
