Applications are considered year-round. Admitted students may start the program at the beginning of any term.

Admission decisions for regular graduate standing are based on a review of the following materials in the candidate's file:

  1. A completed application and nonrefundable application fee
  2. Official Transcript(s) from a regionally accredited college or university verifying the applicant’s bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Normally, a grade point average of approximately 3.0 or higher in upper division undergraduate work is expected.  Official transcripts must be ordered and sent directly to Cal Lutheran via certified e-transcript or mail. We recommend e-transcript if available at your institution

    Note: All applicants who have completed their undergraduate work at an institution outside of the United States must have their transcripts evaluated for equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree. All international students applying to the MSIT program must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. A minimum score of 88 on TOEFL or 6.5 on IELTS is expected.

Prospective international students: please see international application procedures.

Foundation courses may be needed for those who do not meet prerequisite requirements into the program. Such foundation courses do not count towards the degree.
