About this event

The strength of any nonprofit lies in the effectiveness of its board, and one of the ways a board can be most effective is through active engagement. This workshop is designed to equip nonprofit leaders with practical tools and strategies to recruit, onboard, and activate board members in ways that energize board members and foster commitment and impact. Participants will explore how to build a culture of action, engagement, and participation.

Whether you are a nonprofit executive, board chair, or staff member responsible for board relations, this session will provide actionable insights to enhance board performance and organizational success. By the end of this workshop, participants will leave with a clear plan to turn their boards into dynamic teams ready to hit the ground running.

Madison McAleese

Madison Jones McAleese (she/her) is a dynamic social change leader, community builder, and pastor deeply devoted to empowering nonprofit organizations and individuals working towards positive change. Committed to justice, Madison has consulted for a diverse range of nonprofits, including civil rights groups, housing organizations, voter advocacy projects, arts groups, and educational access organizations.

 

As Vice President of Elevate Burbank, she actively contributes to raising awareness of diversity in Burbank, CA. Madison also serves on the committee of Burbank Pride and is a board member of New Leaders Council LA. Additionally, she is the Associate Pastor of The Table, a community for spiritual refugees. Madison received her BA from CLU, and also has a master’s degree in public diplomacy, a master’s degree in Christian studies, and a certificate in governance consulting from BoardSource.

 

Madison is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in social transformation.
