What Can You Do with an English Major? on March 25
English will host career forum on March 25, 9:15-10:20
The "soft" skills of English—critical thinking, close reading, argumentation, persuasion, and ethical judgment—are increasingly in demand by employers in the AI era. A recent issue of Business Insider reports that "technical recruiters and experts are seeing greater demand for humanities skills" and that “schools are seeing enrollment in the major rise after years of decline.”
So what can you do with an English major? To answer this question, the English Department is hosting its annual What Can You Do with an English Major forum. We've invited notable alumni who will showcase the value and versatility of an English degree, from careers in law, academia, publishing, public service, leadership, and beyond.
Whether you are exploring possible career paths, preparing for life after graduation, or just curious about the major or minor, come discover the real-world impact of English!
